Several years ago I participated in a Starbucks You Are Here swap. We swapped the state mugs and included a mug wrap and whatever other small goodies you wanted to include. A local guild mate ended up with my name and gave me the Virginia mug with a cute mug wrap that she had made. I made a similar wrap for another mug and decided to share a tutorial. The wraps were different but still close enough, and after all it was her wrap that inspired the one that I made, that I didn't want her to feel like I had stolen her idea and taken credit. So I asked her permission to share the tutorial and she said "yes".
The mug wrap is easy to assemble with two layers of quilting cotton and a layer of cotton batting. The templates provide a great opportunity to fussy cut that treasured piece of fabric or to use those smaller pieces of your favorite fabrics. Personalize your mug and at the same time protect your hands from the heat.
You will find the free pdf download on the "Tutorials" tab at the top of the page. I hope you enjoy making the You Are Here mug wrap.
